A little while ago, I was reading an article in the Texas Observer on Mexican politicians moving the bribes they collected to Texas and the United States.
Mexico is not so different at all. Here in the USA, big pharma that gets prescribed is greatly influenced too by variants of bribery - perhaps a better deal with the insurance HMO or some incentive with practitioners. In fact, there is a full industry of lobbying in D.C. to influence lawmakers.
I just wish representatives will start leaving their suits behind and just use the Nascar driver style of uniform - at least we will know whose political kitty is supported by big Pharma or tech or NRA or whatever funding they are getting.
