Very interesting read. However, why is diversity then still such a major issue in the investment industry? Quite interesting also the recent turmoil at BlackRock, internally by some referred to as WhiteRock, with regards to diversity.
I agree. The problem is that we all have a natural tendency to hire people that are “like us” in one way or another. It takes real effort to hire more diverse people. Knowing that performance is getting better in diverse teams helps a little, but the real challenge is to overcome your subconscious bias to hire people that are like you.
